Santa Fe Brewing Company at Green Jeans is searching for a reliable, self aware individual to fill our security position. As the first and last point of contact for guests, security persons must remain friendly, professional, calm and in control of potentially dangerous situations. Security is responsible for the safety of customers and staff in the bar, patios, and other licensed premises. Security will greet guests and check their IDs and provide wristbands to those of age as they enter while ensuring entrances and exits are secure. Security persons will manage crowds/lines on busy nights as well as prevent and deal with any conflicts that may arise. Security must also be aware of and maintain appropriate capacity levels. Security individuals must feel comfortable maintaining order and enforcing house policies as well as state liquor laws for alcohol service and sales. As security, you will be expected to gauge the levels of intoxication of all guests entering the bar areas and prevent entry to any already visibly intoxicated guests. Security must effectively walk the line between maintaining an authoritative demeanor and being respectful of guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in dealing with emergencies: cooperating with police, first aiders, and taproom management.
Answer Green Jeans related questions for service kindly and patiently
Remain constantly aware of your surroundings and people’s behavior while on premise
Discretely communicate with servers and management about patrons who appear intoxicated/problematic
Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to settle disputes and diffuse situations
Ability to make rational decisions quickly and handle the situation at hand in a professional and courteous manner
Must possess excellent observational and conflict management skills with the capacity to be stern, as required
Familiarity with State liquor laws for alcohol sales and service, as well as laws regarding minors.
Needs to discern when an underage person is using a fake ID for entry
Good verbal communication and listening skills required
Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Flexible schedule: shifts can occur days/nights/often weekends
Qualifications:
Willingness to work at peak hours which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
High school diploma or equivalent and/or qualified experience required
Valid New Mexico Alcohol Servers Permit required
21 years of age or older
Valid ID
1+ year security or door experience preferred
Able to lift up to 50 pounds & must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours a day
