A Maintenance Technician at Santa Fe Brewing Company is responsible for assisting and/or performing repairs and maintenance to the brewery’s process equipment and plant utilities. Reporting to the brewery’s Maintenance Engineer, this position will also be tasked with documenting and communicating tasks along with supporting the rest of the brewery’s facilities. As a part of a growing production facility, a maintenance technician must also constantly seek ways to improve quality, efficiency, and safety. While we strive to maintain a fun and friendly environment, maintenance techs must also maintain a high level of professional conduct and attitude.
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete necessary paperwork for all maintenance activities
Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas
Basic light troubleshooting and mechanical repairs to packaging equipment when necessary
Assist and improve maintenance procedures
Assist in diagnosing problems and executing repairs of all process equipment
Perform routine maintenance of all process equipment
Help execute maintenance of critical plant utilities, including boilers, chillers, air compressors, HVAC, etc.
Maintain work schedules and checklists to share with Production
CMMS software system to record and communicate PMs, Work Orders, Parts Orders, etc.
Requirements:
Operate forklift and other heavy equipment
Work effectively with Brewing, Cellar, Packaging, and Warehouse to meet production needs
Multitask and manage time in a fast-paced environment
Available to work 5 x 8 hour shifts with flexibility for occasional OT if needed
Communicate well, both written and verbal
Troubleshoot and solve equipment problems
Work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal direct supervision
High school diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
Show up for shifts on time and ready to work
A desire to learn and grow with the company
Demonstrated enthusiasm for craft beer and the brewing industry
Maintain a high standard towards quality and detail
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8-12 hours per day)
Able to work in wet, tight or cramped spaces and in an environment with high noise levels
Able to work with hazardous chemicals
Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (boots, gloves, apron, eye protection, etc.)
Exposure to hot fluids, live steam, pressurized vessels and transfer lines, particulate atmospheres, carbon dioxide, variable temperature levels, and wet floors and clothing.
Performing job with and around moving machinery
Candidate should be physically capable of standing for long periods of time and able to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
